The Rules
We are looking for 10 tiers, to tie 54 flies per person. The
goal will be to tie 18 flies from each Dry, Wet/Nymph, and
Streamer fly categories. The swap will be flexible, so you may
substitute a fly from another category (ex: Bass Bugs instead of
a Streamer pattern) or can double up on a category (ex: 3
different types of dry fly) as long as they are freshwater
patterns.
I want to cover all the bases with this years fly swap. The
Grand Slam Swap 09 is designed to refill your fly box with fresh
new patterns for the upcoming fishing season! It is not an easy
swap, but it should give you a good selection of patterns to
test on your favorite waters. We may add additional swaps based
on the number of entrants available.
Please note: The swap will go on, even if we are short 1 to 3
participants (I kill the swap at 4, so you will tie/receive a
minimum of 36 flies). Once the entry deadline has passed I
will send out an email including the mail-to address and the
actual number of flies that need to be tied. Please do not
join if you intend on dropping or do not agree to all
requirements of the swap.
Deadline for entry: Sunday February 8
Flies must be received by: Saturday April 11
Flies Swapped and Re-shipped by: Monday April 13
Send me an email at
comments@flytier.net with "Fly Swap" in the subject line and
include the following information:
1. Your name
2. The names of the 3 patterns you will be tying
3. Your email address
4. Do you give us permission to post your recipes on NWFT and
possibly make a 3D view of your flies? Yes/No
Other information
you will not receive your own flies.
I don't care how you ship your flies, so long as I receive
them all before the deadline.
You will need to include $3 to cover the costs of return
shipping and a divided plastic container that I will put the
flies into.
You will also need to include a return shipping label with or
without adhesive (hand written plain paper is fine).
Images of the flies will be posted on a fly swap page for
2009.
If you live outside of the continental US then email me to
discuss fees.
This is a First come first served fly swap.
